UBa gets new Board Chair
Mr John William is the new board chair of internal commission for the award of public contracts to the university of Bamenda. He replaces Mr Sixtus O.Ndefru the previous board chair of the said position. He was install today at the central administration board room by Prof. Suh Cheo Emmanuel, deputy vice-chancellor in charge of teaching, professionalization and development of information and communication technology who in his capacity represented the Vice-Chancellor, Prof.Theresia Nkuo-Akenji.

The newly installed chairman was charge by the university to work diligently and to avoid conflicts of interest and unnecessary delays in the processes of files that has cause the university to lose funds thus slowing down the development of the university.
"Being somebody who had been in the house sometime before and knowing the need for this university to grow fast, I think that my dream is to see that every contract that comes to this university is well executed for the interest of the university and the community", John William said.
The new president is coming in at a time when so many projects in the university have been abandoned. Among them is the UBADEF building that has been on a standstill as a result of the sociopolitical crisis.
Worthy of note is the fact that some projects like the four storey pedagogic and administrative block of the Higher Teacher Training College affirm by Prof. Fogwe Zephania, in charge of Development, Physical Plant and Infrastructure is supposed to have been completed by now but its still under construction.
"We will do what we can do within the limit of our capacity, we will try to follow up the projects, we shall do everything at the required time to see that projects run fast in the university", John William responded.

It is obvious to everyone who steps foot on the campus of the university of Bamenda that the administration of Prof. Theresia Nkuo-Akenji is on a resolute track to align the campus with the global quest for climate change consciousness and environmental justice. This is to meet up with the five year strategy development plan recently launched in the university that run from 2021-2025.
