Ako Mayor Cries Out Over Undeveloped Municipality
The mayor of Ako council in Ako subdivision in Donga Mantung division, Mr Nkanya Godlove Nkwai in an interview granted to the press, laments about bad roads, says municipality without internet network, regrets no form of tarred road, and appalled the entire subdivision is yet to have electricity supply.
Nkanya Godlove Nkwai said as mayor, he cannot stay in Ako for two weeks, because he will be lost out with information. He added that information about the affairs of the council always pup up on social media and if he doesn't stay out of the subdivision, they won't be any means for him to assess information due to lack of internet.

"2021 has not been an easy year for me because there's a lot that would have been improve upon, but the enclave nature of the municipality, bad nature of roads, little or no contractors and sometimes contractors come for projects are not reliable has remain a major challenge for me", mayor Nkanya Nkwai said.
To him, all these go a long way to affect his performance as a mayor not because he is not capable but because there's just nothing he can do. "We work hard to infect our vision in 2022, 2021 was that spring board to perform in 2022", he said.
In an exchange with this reporter, mayor Nkanya Nkwai discloses three major projects to construct a breach bring two villages, mbande and njebi together, construction of municipal hostels, and the construction of council chambers. He stated that these projects started in 2021 and set to complete this 2022.
"Before we engage in something that concern us a little, let's first look at what concern us the most", mayor Nkanya Nkwai urge the people of Ako municipality to be tolerant, understanding, hardworking and make sure that whatsoever happen, they can only benefit.
To the mayor, despite challenges in coping with municipality, the social construct is becoming very vibrant and reliable. "With little or no military presence, we can still boost of our schools functioning, 99 percent of our schools are functioning", Ako subdivision if not the first is one of the most fertile, most blessed land in the region with a lot of timber, a lot of palm oil, agricultural products and industrial sector.
Ako council is located in Ako subdivision in Donga Mantung Division of the North West Region of the republic of Cameroon. It is one of the 34 councils in the North West Region with an estimated population of about 4000 people inhabitants.
